Mike Wieringo Comic Book Industry Awards

Les nominations pour la version inaugural de ces prix ont ete finalisees.

Les professionels du comic book ont maintenant jusqu'au 16 aout pour voter, et les gagnants seront annonces lors d'une ceremonie (avec un banquet) le 23 Septembre durant la convention de Baltimore.

Etant donner que les nominations ont été faite aussi bien par les fans que les pros, je trouve ça plutôt normal et j'étais même plutôt surpris par la diversité de ce qu'on peut trouver dans l'ensemble des catégories.

Autant pour moi*, je ne savais pas que les fans étaient impliqués. Donc encore moins crédible.
(quels fans, comment ils ont voté, tous les fans n'étaient forcément pas au courant...)

Du moment qu'ils tiennent les délais pour les couvertures, il est logique qu'ils soient nommés dans cette catégorie (enfin... s'ils le méritent).
Tu crois qu'il faudrait créer une catégorie pour ceux qui respectent le mieux les deadlines?

Hmm...
Comme pour tout palmarès comics, certains titres/protagonistes méritent amplement leur prix, d'autres me sont totalement inconnus... et certains m'étonnent toujours (j'aimerais bien voir les couv' des différents artistes concernés pour voir ce qui justifie ce choix, tiens).

Je suis curieux de savoir si ce prix aura un jour un impact/intérêt aussi important que les Eisner ou Harvey.

Ils ne se sont pas faits mal, j'espère ?

Juste pour la petite histoire, les Harvey Awards se déroulaient notamment lors de Baltimore Comic Con.

Mais ils ont décidé de déménager à la New York Comic Con et ont donc décidé de ne pas faire 2017 afin de mieux se relancer a NY en 2018.

Les Ringo Awards ont donc pris la place des Harvey Awards à Baltimore.

Les Ringo Awards 2018 sont annoncés pour le 29 septembre 2018 pour leur 2ième année.

New Categories

New in 2018, we have added two categories based on juror feedback from our inaugural year:

Open to Fans and Pros, we are now including "Best Kids Comic or Graphic Novel". This category recognizes publications that are tailored to the evolving generation of comic readers, and one that Mike Wieringo would have been behind 100%.

In Fan-Only Favorites, we have added "Favorite Publisher" to the list, allowing readers to nominate the publisher they thought created the best works in the previous year. Will it be one of the big comics houses? An online company? Perhaps a book publisher? Did an indie publisher knock it out of the park? Your vote counts!

Publisher Submissions

New to the Ringo Awards nomination process in 2018, we are enabling publishers to submit works for consideration to the Ringo Jurors. Publishers can submit up to five submissions per "Fan and Pro Nomination" and "Jury-Only Nomination" category that they feel are worthy of consideration. To participate in this process, publishers are asked to have a single representative send an email to contact@ringoawards.com for further information.
